This week, many kids went back to school, so there’s no better reason to get out this weekend and celebrate. Er, I mean, spend some quality time with friends and loved ones exploring Tampa Bay. Yeah, that’s it. Let’s go with that. In any case, LET’S GO!!

New this week, was the opening of a new exhibition at MFA, born of their participation in the Art Bridges Collection Loan Partnership – an innovative art lending model that has facilitated the collection of American art borrowed from the Joselyn Art Museum in Omaha, Nebraska. An Evening with Michael Bublé
Amalie Arena, Tampa
Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum crooner, Michael Bublé is hitting the road for his new Higher tour – a 27-city US tour stopping this Saturday in Tampa. Bublé’s just released album of the same name (Higher), is his ninth top 10 on Billboard’s Album Sales Chart. He could sing the phone book, as far as I’m concerned. (when we actually had phone books, that is). Bring someone you love.

There will be face painting, popcorn, tarot reader and more, so bring the fam.

Second Saturday ArtWalk
All over St. Pete
I wanted to give you a couple of highlights for the upcoming Second Saturday ArtWalk. Participating galleries, studios, and arts venues cover so much territory – good thing the trolleys are running again! Here are just two ideas:
- The Factory has multiple activities, but the pop-up, Somewhere Store, sounds amazing. Eight Tampa Bay emerging fashion designers and creators will be on hand to show and sell you
- 2- The Artlofts at Florida CraftArt is hosting the opening reception of Encaustic Treasures…. A Florida Wax Show. Artist meet & greet, demos, and all the good things. All events free to the public. August 13th 5-9pm More information w/ map & trolley guide
Bicycles & Arts Extravaganza
Factory on Fifth, Tampa
Headliner, Well Built Bikes, proves that engaging art is created out of many mediums – including all the parts of classic bicycles. Consider the possibilities and prepare to be wowed. I really hope one of the participating artists is named Schwinn.
That would be perfect.

Second Sunday Market & Art Walk
Heights Public Market – Armature Works, Tampa
In our ongoing search for Tampa Bay’s best weekend markets, here’s one that is definitely calendar worthy. Every Second Sunday there is a huge art walk and vendor fair featuring a multitude of artists, artisans, makers, and purveyors of deliciousness. Each month, participating vendors rotate, so there is always something fresh and new to see, (and eat). This is a don’t miss, I promise.
August 14th 11am-3pm Free to the public
The weekend’s over, but it’s Tampa Bay, so there’s even cool stuff to do on a Tuesday!
Love in the Time of Serial Killers:
An Evening with Alicia Thompson
Tombolo Books, St. Pete
One of the ‘Burg’s very favorite book stores, Tombolo Books, continues to showcase and support local writers. This book reading and signing by popular Florida author, Alicia Thompson, features her new book which asks the question, are you dateable if you’re obsessed with True Crime? I’d like to know the answer to that….asking for a friend.
