Haunted Cigar Factory Tour

The J.C. Newman Cigar Factory has seen many changes and historic events in its 112-year history. A multitude of people have walked through the doors – workers, aficionados, city dignitaries, but how many of them never actually left?? That’s the question you’ll try to answer as you embark on a tour of the spooky side of Tampa’s iconic cigar producing history.

Friday Art Market

As we all know, Creative Clay does the most amazing work to support and educate their member artists. This Friday, they’ve put together a wonderful Fall outdoor Art Market that will feature paintings, ceramics, knick knacks, and greeting cards – all at very reasonable prices. So, improve your art collection or start your holiday shopping – all while supporting one of the best arts non-profits in the ‘Burg.

Opening: Dia de los Muertos 3 – Art Show

It’s the 3rd annual “Celebration of Life” at Artelier de Sosi, featuring a juried exhibition of art, sugar skulls, and memory boxes by artists, both local and from around the state. Works in glass, fiber, wood, metal, and canvas reflect our memories of lost loved ones and bring us together to celebrate them. The opening event will feature music, beverages and the opportunity to come dressed in costume. Exhibit runs through November 17th.

Opening: Show Us Your Gulfport
Gulfport Arts Center, Gulfport

It’s a grand re-opening celebration of the long-shuttered Gulfport Arts Center and the opening exhibit of its first juried show. Show Us Your Gulfport features the work of local artists reflecting on their personal and artistic vision of one of the very coolest little hamlets in Pinellas County. I call it home.
Exhibit runs through December 2nd.

Haunted History Tours

This haunted history tour in the ‘Burg promises to be the perfect way to celebrate the scariest month of the year. It’s a walking tour through downtown where you will learn about all the ghosts in St. Pete’s closet – all while sipping your adult beverage. You can even book private tours if you get enough of your friends to join. Discover the dark side of the Sunshine City…..at your own risk.

Concert: Smashing Pumpkins & Jane’s Addiction
Amalie Arena, Tampa

It’s pretty “on the nose” to have Smashing Pumpkins come to town in October, wouldn’t you say? The iconic band rocks Amalie with special guest Jane’s Addiction. Ticket prices are pretty reasonable here, so it’s a great opportunity to hit a big arena concert without breaking the bank.

German American Society Oktoberfest

Voted Best of the Bay for authenticity, this Oktoberfest is the real deal. Enjoy the yummiest German goodies, made from scratch! Down some imported Bavarian beer, dance the night away, and play some traditional German Oktoberfest games. Break out your lederhosen and get to the German American Society’s home base. You’ll have a blast.

Winter Season Opening Day 2022: Saturday Morning Market
Al Lang Stadium, St. Pete

If you’re like me, each year around this time you can’t wait to get back to one of Tampa Bay’s largest open air Saturday markets. Bring the dog, grab a cappuccino, buy some fresh flowers or some fresh produce from a number of family farms, and then peruse the wares of over 130 vendors. There’s live music and, if you’re lucky, some spontaneous dancing! It’s become a long standing tradition here in the ‘Burg and throughout the Bay area. Come hang out with your neighbors and have a lovely day.

OktoberFest Tampa – A Fall Arts & Craft Fair

Staying on the Tampa side this weekend? A day at Tampa Riverwalk is never a bad idea – especially when there’s a day-long festival to enjoy! This event has everything – visual arts and artisans, local food booths, food trucks and musicians.  It’s a great way to enjoy a Saturday and support local businesses. Bring the fam. Admission is free.

For the 8th year, Your Real Stories brings us Story Days in Tampa Bay. The co-founding and Muse award winning team of Jaye Sheldon & Lillian Dunlap, create a beautiful and artfully crafted marriage of filmmaking, writing and story telling about some of the Bay area’s most fascinating people. This year, as a part of Second Saturday ArtWalk, YRS presents Story Days in their WADA studio at the ArtsXchange on 22nd St. S. If you want to learn, be fascinated, or simply moved, this is the place to go.

Fall Plant Festival

Commercial growers and vendors from all over Florida will be at the USF Botanical Gardens this weekend to help you beautify your world for Fall. You’ll find everything you need to refresh your garden, brighten up an apartment or even provide some green inspiration for your desk at the office.
