727 FIT: 727 Day Workout

Get ready gang, we’re celebrating 727 Day the only way we know how: with a high-energy, team-based, competition style workout. This isn’t your average sweat session. Teams of 4 to 6 will go head-to-head in a series of challenges designed to test strength, speed, teamwork, and St. Pete spirit. Teams of four must include at least two females, and teams of six must have three. You’ll push, pull, race, and rise together – because only one team will walk away with the grand prize: an exclusive beach day sponsored by Cabana Club, packed with sun, sand, and obviously bragging rights. So gather your crew, bring your A-game, and tap into that 727 pride. Competition is fierce, fun is guaranteed, and the beach is calling. Movement is Medicine: Tai Chi

These Tai-Chi based mindful classes are designed to help anyone improve their overall health and boost our immune systems. It is particularly beneficial for those with any type of chronic condition, stress, or balance issues. All the classes offer elements of enhanced breathing, posture, coordination, balance, flexibility, Tai Chi forms, & healing Qigong. The programs are easy to follow, can be performed standing or seated, and are geared towards beginners and all levels who want to learn about and practice calming health improvement techniques such as Tai Chi and Qigong. Registration for any of these classes is required as space is limited in both virtual and in-person venues. Please note that both virtual offerings are the same lesson. You are welcome to attend multiple courses, but please register for each course you wish to attend. To attend this program in person, you must register for a $22/month TGH Fitness Center membership. So, it feels like our duty to say directly: you should watch it. To see Oz as if you’ve never heard of it before can give you a special thrill of discovery. They certainly don’t make them like this anymore. It’s a musical, a fantasy story, a kids’ flick, and a morality play about already having inside yourself the things you want from the outside world. But it’s also kind of a road-trip movie – Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion make friends and get up to some antics on the Yellow Brick Road. And it’s also kind of a disaster movie – the tornado scene was shocking, for the time. And the moment of transition between black & white and color is maybe the most iconic instant of film since they started adding sound. Even if you have seen it before, we encourage you to bring somebody who’s never seen The Wizard of Oz to the Theatre.
