Halfway There: A Celebration of Beer

The Coliseum St. Petersburg

Ooooooohhhh, we’re Halfway There! We are so excited for this year’s Halfway There: A Celebration of Beer, which marks the midpoint to Tampa Bay Beer Week. Brought to you by the Tampa Bay Beer Week (TBBW) board and the Tampa Bay Brewer’s Alliance (TBBA), this is our primary fundraiser and your attendance is the best way to help us make TBBW bigger and better each year. We invite dozens of breweries, both near and far, to share their finest offerings that best represent Tampa Bay’s beer culture. By popular demand, we will once again be hosting Halfway There at The Coliseum! This historic building in the heart of St Pete is within walking distance of lots of great restaurants, bars, hotels, etc. Food trucks will be on site in the lot just west of the building with easy access in and out of the event space. While there will be parking available on site at The Coliseum, we strongly encourage the use of ride share and public transportation. Please be safe and don’t drink and drive. Designated driver tickets will be available for $20. Designated driver ticket holders will be given a different wristband and will be able to enjoy the various non-alcoholic offerings available during the festival. No one without a ticket will be admitted into the event – this includes designated drivers. This event is strictly 21 and up, and pets are not allowed. We love kids, dogs, cats, and other friendly critters, but this is a beer event designed for adults. For everyone’s safety and comfort, there will be no exceptions to this rule.

Over the last three years, our chapter has been joined by Tampa residents and GTG members from MIA, Sanford, JAX, D.C., MD, VA, CHI, CA, NJ, NY, GA, and others in a weekend of enjoying all the Cigar Capital has to offer. GTG Tampa has longed prioritized our community outreach through the GTGgives initiative. To date, we have provided hygiene packs to high school students, delivered Thanksgiving dinners to senior citizens, provided clothes and gifts to orphanage during Christmas, supplied food for cold-weather shelters, and much more. This year we invite you to participate in our newest philanthropic effort. Our charity golf tournament will be used to help students and teachers in our communities. A lot of families are unable to purchase all items their young children need and too often our teachers are going into their own pockets to help fill that need while purchasing instructional items for their own classrooms. GTG Tampa wants to help lighten the load. Each year we will sponsor a well-deserving school where there is a proven need, by donating all proceeds from the tournament to that school. The recipient of this year's support is Williams Middle Magnet International Baccalaureate School. (More information on the school is available upon request.)
