  • Run for All Children

    Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital

The 12th Annual Run for All Children is a family-friendly, race benefitting the patients and families at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. The starting line for this certified, chip timed 5K and 1-mile run will be in front of the main hospital, with a beautiful course along the downtown St Petersburg waterfront and ends back at Johns Hopkins All Children's where there will be a post-race Finish Line Fest. A kids' dash will take place near the finish line area. The inaugural race was held in 2014, born from founder Brian Powers’ desire to make a difference in the lives of children and their families after experiencing firsthand the positive impact offered by the dedicated staff and volunteers of a neonatal intensive care unit. The 12th annual Run for All Children will once again draw participants from throughout the region. All proceeds from the Run for All Children go to the areas of greatest need at All Children’s Hospital.

  • Heaven and Nature Sing

On November 8, 5-8pm at the Morean Arts Center, a duo of gift-giving shows debut just in time for the holidays. Heaven and Nature Sing: Holiday Show + Sale highlights artworks including ornaments, jewelry and functional pottery. Paintings and sculpture too, all made by talented Morean member artists! Then, visitors can celebrate all things avian through Cheap Cheep Cheeps, featuring bird-themed works from 150 artists, all priced below $400. Viewers can find something fun for themselves and for others on their holiday shopping list. “This is the time of year when the Morean focuses on affordable art meant for gift-giving,” said Chief Curator Amanda Cooper. “Our long-running holiday show, featuring unique, hand-made items by our artist members, is complemented by a new exhibition this year. Cheap Cheep Cheeps is the brainchild of local artist Bask and includes nearly 400 works of art by 150 local artists—all featuring the beloved bird in its many forms. These individual avian portraits will be installed in Bask’s trademark exuberant style, transforming the gallery into one giant, bird-themed work of art.” Both exhibitions, are sponsored by the Bank of Tampa and will be on view through December 31. The Morean Arts Center gallery is free and open to the public Monday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm at 719 Central Avenue.
