Is this a great week for Tampa Bay sports fans or what?

The Bolts in the Eastern Conference finals of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Rays leading the American League East, the Rowdies at the top of their conference, and you-know-who playing his first official game in a Bucs uniform in the season opener against the Saints on Sunday… what’s not to like?

OK, maybe it would have been nice for this to be a regular season, whatever that means, but the compressed time frame has certainly revved up the stakes and telescoped the excitement — especially for the Lightning, who have redeemed themselves big-time from last year’s Stanley Cup humiliation.

Will they go all the way? They certainly looked impressive in their shellacking of the New York Islanders on Monday, and tonight at 8 they’re back at it on NBCSN.
