If you haven’t already snagged tickets to tonight’s Stanley Cup celebration inside Raymond James Stadium, you’re probably out of luck — unless you’re willing to pay a scalper an ungodly price for what is supposed to be a free event.
But you don’t need tickets, just common sense and a free afternoon, to line up in socially distanced fashion along the Tampa Riverwalk to watch the parade — the boat parade, that is, which launches from Marjorie Park in Davis Islands and continues past the Tampa Convention Center and up the Hillsborough River as far as Rick’s on the River. Start time is listed at 5 p.m., but you’ll probably want to score a viewing spot well before that. Tampa’s waited a long time for this party, so the Riverwalk will be crowded. (So wear a mask.)
Better yet, tune into your favorite local news station and watch the festivities from the safety and comfort of your couch, where you can scream and yell and toast the team with your favorite beverage. Go Bolts!
