
On November 8, 5-8pm at the Morean Arts Center, a duo of gift-giving shows debut just in time for the holidays.Heaven and Nature Sing: Holiday Show + Sale highlights artworks including ornaments, jewelry and functional pottery. Paintings and sculpture too, all made by talented Morean member artists!Then, visitors can celebrate all things avian through Cheap Cheep Cheeps, featuring bird-themed works from 150 artists, all priced below $400. Viewers can find something fun for themselves and for others on their holiday shopping list.“This is the time of year when the Morean focuses on affordable art meant for gift-giving,” said Chief Curator Amanda Cooper. “Our long-running holiday show, featuring unique, hand-made items by our artist members, is complemented by a new exhibition this year. Cheap Cheep Cheeps is the brainchild of local artist Bask and includes nearly 400 works of art by 150 local artists—all featuring the beloved bird in its many forms. These individual avian portraits will be installed in Bask’s trademark exuberant style, transforming the gallery into one giant, bird-themed work of art.”Both exhibitions, are sponsored by the Bank of Tampa and will be on view through December 31.
