Newly Opened: After Venus by Artist Babs Reingold
Museum of Fine Arts, DTSP

Babs Reingold is locally based, but internationally renowned and collected. Here’s an opportunity to see her work in exhibition at the MFA. The series includes large-scale drawings, paintings, monotypes, and encaustic collages, many of which have never been publicly exhibited. At a time when human bodies are increasingly policed and regulated, After Venus unabashedly expresses a woman-centered strength that actively works against easy objectification. The exhibition’s title draws inspiration from Upper Paleolithic-era “Venus” figurines that have been found throughout Europe and Asia. This notably includes the Venus of Willendorf (c. 30,000 BCE) discovered in 1908 in northern Austria. Accompanying After Venus will be select objects from the museum’s collection, examining the history of these diverse, enigmatic figures.

Adult Art Workshops
Dunedin Fine Art Center, Dunedin

W-AW109 From Frozen to Flowing

Here’s a fun and educational way to enjoy the summer. DFAC has a full schedule of adult classes scheduled through June 13th. Art takes many forms, so if painting isn’t your thing, then make sushi, or decorate cakes, or learn cuisine from around the world. The possibilities are many and the fun is real. Gather some friends and have a ball. DFAC knows great education! There are, of course, many children’s and teen programs available throughout the summer. “Through our workshops, both beginner and advanced students have the opportunity to explore new artistic mediums and techniques without committing to an extended class session.”

Now through June 13th, 2026

Wolves: Photography by Ronan Donovan
James Museum, DTSP

Two wild wolves howling during sunset.

Created by the National Geographic Society and the National Museum of Wildlife Art, this exhibition will present stunning photography and videos of wild wolves living in two very different environments: the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in the American West and Ellesmere Island in the Canadian Arctic. As wolves in North America are increasingly under threat due to recent extreme wolf-control laws, and humans continue to impinge on the land and food sources that these animals need to survive, Donovan hopes that his photos will provide people with a better understanding of these often misunderstood animals. He also hopes they will see wolves as they are: powerful, intelligent, social mammals that have evolved to live in family structures similar to humans.

Now through September 7th, 2026
