Inside TrueScan’s Full-Body MRI

A proactive approach to understanding your health—before symptoms appear

In a world where healthcare is often reactive, more people are beginning to ask a different question: What if we could catch potential issues before they become serious?

That question is at the heart of TrueScan, Tampa Bay’s first dedicated full-body MRI center, located in St. Petersburg. Designed for people who want deeper insight into their health, TrueScan offers a comprehensive, non-invasive scan that evaluates the body from head to ankle in just about 60 minutes.

Unlike traditional imaging that focuses on a single area after symptoms arise, a full-body MRI takes a broader view. The goal is early awareness: providing clarity, peace of mind, or actionable information that can be shared with your physician.

What a Full-Body MRI Looks At

TrueScan’s full-body MRI evaluates the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and legs, screening for a wide range of potential findings, including:

  • Solid tumors, including early-stage cancers
  • Brain and abdominal aortic aneurysms
  • Neurological conditions
  • Metabolic disorders, such as fatty liver disease
  • Autoimmune conditions, including multiple sclerosis
  • Spinal injuries or abnormalities
  • Non-cancerous findings like cysts or benign growths

Each scan includes a comprehensive radiology report and a 60-minute physician consultation, giving patients the opportunity to walk through their results, ask questions, and understand next steps if follow-up care is recommended.

Who Is This For?

Many people who choose a full-body MRI feel completely healthy. Some are building a baseline for future comparison. Others have a family history of illness, unresolved symptoms, or simply want a clearer picture of what’s happening inside their body.

What makes TrueScan stand out is not just the technology, but the experience itself. Patients often describe the process as calm and supportive, with quick turnaround times for results and guidance on what to do next, especially if something unexpected is found.

What Is the AI Heart Scan?

The AI Heart Scan is a 15-minute coronary CT angiography (CCTA) enhanced with HeartFlow AI analysis, designed to give a complete picture of coronary artery health.

Unlike basic heart tests that focus on one metric, this scan evaluates plaque type, plaque volume, blood flow, and functional risk all in one non-invasive exam.

The scan evaluates:

  • Soft plaque quantification (the most dangerous type)
  • Calcified plaque quantification
  • Artery narrowing (stenosis)
  • Blood flow restriction (ischemia)
  • Agatston calcium score
  • AI-generated analysis report
  • Comprehensive cardiology report

Every scan includes a 30-minute physician consultation to review findings, discuss risk, and outline next steps if needed.

The Lois Odence Planters Nursing Scholarship Luncheon is near and dear to my heart. For more than 25 years, Planters has helped support future nurses and healthcare professionals as they pursue their education and prepare to serve our community with skill, compassion, and care. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has honored the memory of my late grandmother by supporting this meaningful mission.

This year, I am especially excited to welcome my longtime friend, Kate Doerge, as our featured speaker. Her book, Reimagining Grief, shares her journey of transforming pain into purpose following the loss of her beloved daughter, Penny, and both of her parents. Her message is one of resilience, hope, and healing.

Learn more about Kate at katedoerge.com, purchase tickets to the luncheon at mpmf.org/events/lois-odence-planters, and find her book on Amazon.https://amzn.to/4oxtQeY
