Thursday **Registry Spotlight Event** American Stage has made it possible for Playwright, Doug Robinson to realize the dream of seeing his play produced and world premiered. How special is that?? American Stage shines in the #RegistrySpotlight, and deservedly so. WORLD PREMIER Opening – The Figs by Doug Robinson American Stage, DTSP Last year, American Stage gave voice to six new playwrights in their Lift Every Voice New Play Festival – a playwrighting event featuring readings open to the public. One play earns an opportunity to see a full production of their work created for the mainstage. The Figs is the play that earned the distinction after last year’s festival. Doug Robinson’s The Figs – it’s absolutely hilarious and ludicrous, and peppered with characters we don’t often see in this genre – such as our gay princess and her love story.
