Registry Tampa Bay

American Stage kicked off its 2019-20 season with the romantic comedy Vietgone, and it looks to be another hit for the theater, where the hits — both popular and critical — just seem to keep on coming. (The company virtually swept last season’s Theatre Tampa Bay awards.) So it’s a good moment to talk to the multi-talented CEO and Producing Artistic Director Stephanie Gularte, during whose tenure over the last four and a half years there’s been considerable growth and innovation at the company, as well as a slew of memorable shows.

So what’s a Producing Artistic Director/CEO do, anyway? Who makes up the season themes? (This year’s theme: American Dreamscape.) Is there a show she’s still longing to do, or a role she’s yearning to play (she’s an accomplished actor and director)? Does she miss Sacramento (where she founded a theater, Capital Stage)? And does that political science degree ever come in handy?

Find out the answers to these and more burning questions today at 1:30 p.m., when Stephanie will be my guest on duPont REGISTRY Tampa Bay‘s weekly Facebook Live broadcast, dRTB Live. Like us on our Facebook page (@registrytampabay) to get an alert to watch the interview as it happens, or watch at your leisure on Facebook or here on this site, where we’ll publish a link later this week.
