You blew it. You didn’t act fast enough to get tickets to last night’s talk by travel guru Rick Steves at Tampa Theatre. Don’t beat yourself up; that show sold out very fast. BUT if you like talks by fascinating people, you’re in luck — because Tampa Theatre is now offering individual ticket sales to this year’s LIMELIGHT series, which were previously available only as a four-speaker subscription. And what a marvelously motley crew you get to choose from: snowboard and skateboard legend Shaun White on March 5; pioneering African-American astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison on March 24; actor and equality champion Geena Davis (maybe you saw her attending Sunday night’s Oscars?) on April 23; and social psychologist Jonathan Haidt, an expert on the psychology of morality, on May 5. You can still subscribe to all four, of course, but now you can pick and choose. Just stop by the Tampa Theatre box office at 711 N. Franklin St. in Tampa or go to their online ticketing page. ’Twould make for a pretty neat Valentine’s gift, no?
