The good news: This year marks the 10th season for Preserve the ’Burg’s Movies in the Park, showing flick favorites on the big outdoor screen in St. Petersburg’s North Straub Park, and tonight the movie is everyone’s favorite paranormal romance (with an Oscar-winning Whoopi Goldberg), Ghost.

The even better news: The weather forecast says there’s only a 10 percent chance of rain. Which means that (cross your fingers), this week’s edition of Movies in the Park won’t. be. rained. out. Whoopi and company: Please conjure up some supernatural forces to keep the precipitation away this time around, won’t you?

Festivities begin at 7 with live local music by Mountain Holler; the screening begins at nightfall. Bring chairs, blankets and a picnic, or shop for goodies from the food vendors. PS: Next week’s film,  La La Land on May 23, will be preceded by a 10th anniversary celebration (with cake!).
