The 50th anniversary of humankind’s first walk on the Moon has generated all manner of stories and special events. One of the more interesting of these events locally is a talk tonight at the St. Petersburg Main Public Library by Dr. Kathleen Blackett, NASA Solar System Ambassador, on the early days of NASA and the Apollo Missions. She will address some of the politics, some of the science, and — this part’s especially intriguing — something with an unusual smell. After the talk, be sure to look up: there’s a full moon tonight! Apollo Missions to the Moon, 6:30-7:30 p.m., St. Petersburg Main Public Library, 3745 Ninth Ave. N., St. Petersburg. Free admission.
