While away a Wednesday at this fascinating exhibition at the Imagine Museum. The latest addition to St. Petersburg’s lively glass art scene, Imagine issued its first “open call” for this show, from which 28 glass artists were chosen from all over the globe. The artists were tasked with submitting work that reflected a pivotal moment in a career path, process and/or artistic direction — work that represented a new path of expression for the artist that could be communicated to the viewer. The exhibition reflects the immense diversity in today’s studio glass movement, from the whimsical glass macarons of Nashville-based Meredith Edmondson to Stephan Cox’s “Reverse Cowpoke” (pictured) to CLEO, the “Crystal Light Emitting Object” created by the robotics/glassblower team of Mike Soroka & Jeremy Sinkus.
