Registry Tampa Bay

Monday Night Football is still a few weeks off, and the only NFL games on TV tonight are of the pre-season variety. Major League Baseball, on the other hand, has begun the nerve-wracking countdown to post-season play, and the Tampa Bay Rays are in the thick of it. They’re battling for one of the two AL East wild card spots, and after winning two close ones in walk-offs against the Tigers this past weekend, their pitchers making strikeout history and their hitters finally getting hits, they still occupy the second of those two spots. But right now, every hit, every strikeout and every win matters. Tonight’s opponents, the Seattle Mariners, are in the AL West basement, so we should be able to give them a good fight. But with the wins and attendance at Rays home games notoriously meager (compared to the wins and crowds on the road) — a win is not a given. So help ’em out — go to the game at the Trop tonight and enjoy some Monday Night Baseball! 7:10 p.m., Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, 1-888-326-7297, raysbaseball.com.
