The Stars aren’t making this Stanley Cup thing easy, are they? But tonight, in the sixth game of the best-of-seven Cup finals between the Lightning and Dallas, the whole nail-biting, blood pressure-spiking,   jaw-clenching series could finally be over — or not. If the Bolts win the game, they’ll get t0 hoist the Stanley Cup for the first time since 2004. If the Stars win, it’s on to a do-or-die game seven.

Good omen, per today’s Tampa Bay Times: “The Lightning have yet to lose two straight games in this playoff run.” Plus, they’ve mostly been champs in overtime.

Bad omen: Saying jinx-y things like WFLA-8’s Stacie Schaible did after the Bolts won Game 4, that things looked good for the team because the Stars would have to come back and win three straight to take the Cup and that doesn’t seem likely, does it?

Does no one remember the 2008 World Series, when the Rays lost three straight to the Phillies?

Or this past weekend, when the Rays beat the Phillies three straight and knocked them out of the playoffs? (Ah, sweet revenge.)

These things happen. And in this year, the craziest of all years, anything is possible.

One thing’s for sure: It’s gonna be fun to watch.

Stanley Cup Finals, Game Six: NBC, 8 p.m.
