The Best Thing You Can Do Today: Watch a bunch of boats go really, really fast

There’s nothing quite like watching sleek, supercharged speedboats fly by at 150 (or even 180) mph — and that’s exactly what you’ll experience if you go to Clearwater Beach today for the Super Boat National Championships 2018. Hosted by Clearwater restaurateur par excellence Frank Chivas, presented by Visit St. Pete Clearwater and sponsored by Hooters, the races kick off at noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.; you can watch from Pier 60 for $20 (admission begins at 9 a.m.), or from Clearwater Beach or your anchored boat for free. (Last year over 50,000 people on over 2,500 boats lined the beaches of the 2.5-mile-long race course.) After Race Party and awards ceremony from 4-7 p.m. at Marina Cantina, and a free-admission After Race Beach Party at Shephard’s from 4 p.m. “till it’s over!”
