The White Cane Walk

Largo Central Park

Why White Cane Awareness Matters The white cane is much more than a mobility tool; it is a symbol of independence. For individuals who are blind or visually impaired, the white cane helps them navigate their surroundings safely, confidently, and independently. The White Cane Walk is an opportunity for our community to learn more about the importance of white cane awareness while experiencing some of the tools, techniques, and challenges associated with navigating the world with vision loss. And the impact goes beyond event day. Funds raised through the White Cane Walk directly support Lighthouse of Pinellas programs and services that empower individuals who are blind or visually impaired to live independently, navigate their communities, and achieve their personal goals. Walk, Learn, Play & Celebrate! There will be something for everyone at this year’s White Cane Walk, including: A community walk Live music and entertainment Interactive games Sensory experience stations Educational crafts focused on white cane awareness and safety Sponsor and community partner booths Delicious donuts from DonutNV Coffee station Opportunities to learn more about Lighthouse of Pinellas programs and services This is more than a walk, it’s an opportunity to come together as a community, learn something new, have fun, and support greater independence for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Help Us Spread the Word! There are so many ways to be part of the White Cane Walk! Registration is FREE, so gather your family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, or favorite walking team and join us at Largo Central Park. Want to make an even bigger impact?
