The players accelerated into the back nine on Sunday at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, NC with the toughest holes on the course looming ahead-16, 17, & 18- the infamous “green mile”. It looked like a NASCAR race coming into turn 3, when Kris Reitan nosed ahead to win by 2 shots over the field. It was exciting.
The 28-year-old PGA Tour rookie from Norway shot 2-under 69 on Sunday to earn a two-shot win over Rickie Fowler and Nicolai Hojgaard at the Truist Championship for his first victory on the PGA Tour. Another PGA Tour rookie, Alex Fitzpatrick, was in the mix again this week finishing in solo fourth place.
Reitan took home $3,600,000 for first place at the Truist Championship. This is his first PGA Tour win. He won twice on the DP World Tour. The 28-year-old rookie secured his PGA Tour card after finishing in the top 10 of the 2025 Race to Dubai.

Reitan said “It’s been a dream of mine since I was a little kid. I keep thinking back to a few years ago when I was considering stopping playing because I didn’t find it enjoyable anymore, didn’t see progress, and to be able to turn it around the way I have been doing the last couple of years has been amazing — to seal it with victory here is ridiculous.”
The 2026 PGA Championship will be held this week (May 14-17) at Aronimink Golf Club in Newton Square, PA.
The PGA Championship is one of the four prestigious men’s major golf championships, alongside the Masters, U.S. Open, and The Open Championship. The tournament is conducted by the PGA of America.
The 2026 PGA Championship features a 156-player field highlighted by reigning champion Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Cameron Young, and Xander Schauffele. The field also includes top contenders Jon Rahm, Ludvig Åberg, and Brooks Koepka, along with PGA professionals like Derek Berg. All competing for the prestigious Wanamaker Trophy.
Twenty (20) PGA of America Golf Professionals will compete in the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club, making up the Corebridge Financial Team. These club professionals earned their spots through a top 20 finish at the 2026 PGA Professional Championship.
Aronimink’s notable championship history includes the 1962 PGA Championship, 1977 U.S. Amateur, 2003 Senior PGA Championship, 2018 BMW Championship, and the 2020 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. It is distinguished as the first club to host all three of the PGA of America’s rotating majors (PGA, Senior PGA, and Women’s PGA).
The 242-yard par-3 8th hole is consistently ranked as the toughest hole at Aronimink Golf Club, often playing as the hardest during recent PGA Tour events. It features a daunting, long downhill shot over a pond to a green where missing anywhere but short results in a challenging recovery due to high shoulders.
Aronimink Golf Club was designed by legendary golf course architect, Donald Ross. The course, which opened in 1928, is considered a masterpiece of his, noted for its strategic bunkering and challenging green complexes. The course was famously restored by architects Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner (2017–2018) to more closely match Ross’s original 1920s design.
Signature events on the PGA Tour are elevated events designed to attract the top players. to compete. The Majors, like the PGA Championship this week, are special, and attract the best golfers in the world. What a treat to see qualifying PGA of America members compete alongside the best golfers. It will be great theatre.
Enjoy your golf. Like Kris Reitan, we hope you find joy in your game.
