Including the latest commitments, all tournament past champions are in the field, including World No. 1 and three-time winner Nelly Korda, Defending Champion Linn Grant, 2023 winner Lilia Vu and 2020 winner Sei Young Kim. Tickets on sale at www.TheAnnika.com.
The ANNIKA will feature a field of 108 of the world’s best female professional golfers competing for a share of the $3.2 million purse, one of the largest on the LPGA Tour outside a major championship.
In a press conference last week, tournament host Annika Sorenstam announced a special caddie award presentation for her former caddie Terry McNamara, who is in the Caddie Hall of Fame. “It’s the caddies’ idea, and we thought the timing to do it at our tournament was good. It’s just a nice tribute to Terry and it also emphasizes the importance of the caddies. They play an instrumental part, as you know.” McNamara was on Sorenstam’s bag when she shot 59 in 2001. Sorenstam’s 59 remains the only sub-60 round in the history of the LPGA Tour.
Tournament officials announced today AdventHealth as the official and exclusive healthcare system for The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. This is a multi-year commitment.
AdventHealth will serve as Presenting Partner for the Women’s Leadership Summit, the Tournament Volunteer Program and the Junior Golf Show at The ANNIKA.
“We are excited to partner with The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican to celebrate women’s leadership and encourage healthy, active lifestyles,” said Lauren Key, chief consumer officer for AdventHealth’s West Florida Division. “Through this partnership, we have an opportunity to inspire the next generation of female leaders and athletes while bringing our community together around the importance of health, wellness and supporting one another.”
AdventHealth is a not-for-profit connected network of care that helps people feel whole – body, mind and spirit, featuring more than 110,000 team members across a national footprint providing whole-person care for millions of people annually through more than 2,000 care sites. In addition to its partnership with The ANNIKA, AdventHealth is the Official Health and Wellness Partner of the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Exclusive Hospital of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican Golf Club is in its 7th year – the 4th year with Annika Sorenstam as host. Every year, the tournament has raised the bar to make the player and fan experience special. This includes complementary hotel accommodation for the players as well as travel and some of the overhead expenses provided by the Doyle Family who own the club, according to Ryan Dever, Tournament Director for the club.
Children 17 and under will be admitted free to the championship with a paid adult. All military personnel (active, reserve, retired and veterans), and first responders (fire, police, and emergency medical service personnel) plus one will receive complimentary access to the Championship.
In addition, all military personnel (active, reserve, retired and veterans) are welcome to access the Hero Outpost presented by FedData, overlooking the tournament’s signature par-3 12th green.
Nelly Korda has 25 points and is 2 points away from qualifying for the LPGA Hall of Fame, which requires a total of 27 points along with at least one major championship, Vare Trophy, or Rolex Player of the Year honor. She is a three-time winner at the ANNIKA.
Defending Champion (2025), Linn Grant is in the field next week at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge. It was the second time Grant received a trophy from Sorenstam. Grant won the Scandinavian Mixed in Sweden when Sorenstam and Henrik Stenson were co-host.
Come out next week and be inspired by the world’s best golfers at the ANNIKA. Enjoy a good walk around the Pelican golf course, a Donald Ross design and a Beau Welling redesign that offers an unmatched golf experience-particularly the fast-undulating greens. Keep an eye out for Annika-she is omnipresent, hands-on, involved, and always gracious and welcoming.
