He did not have his best stuff for most of the day, but Matt Fitzpatrick of England delivered a stunning 4 iron shot on the first playoff hole to defeat World #1 Scottie Sheffler. This is his second win at the RBC Heritage. Fitzpatrick took home $3,600,000, while Scottie Scheffler pocketed $2,160,000 for second place.
The RBC Heritage has been played on Hilton Head Island since 1969. Harbour Town Golf Links underwent a restoration after last year’s RBC Heritage, bringing in Davis Love III and Love Golf Design to bring the course closer to the original intent set out by famed architect Pete Dye. The biggest undertaking and most notable work was rebuilding of all greens, bunkers, bulkheads and stacked sod bunker facings.

It is a magnificent restoration, and a great tournament.
Meanwhile, in Bradenton, Florida, Stewart Cink pulled away from the field with an amazing stretch around the turn Sunday to close with a 9-under par 63 for a six-shot victory in the Senior PGA Championship, his first senior major and third win of the year on the PGA Tour Champions.

Over on the LPGA Tour, Hannah Green came from six shots back on the 11th hole to clinch the JM Eagle LA Championship title. She made five birdies in six holes on the back side at El Caballero to shoot 31. She drained a 15-foot birdie putt on the 18th in overtime to collect her eighth career LPGA victory. She now has four titles worldwide.
Finally, Florida’s Paula Francisco won the 2026 SEC Women’s Golf Individual Championship at 8-under 202, leading the Gators to the top seed for match play at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla. (April 17–19, 2026).

The Florida Gators finished first in stroke play at 9-under.
Enjoy your golf.
