A new Omakase restaurant, Sushi Sho Rexley, from brothers Arte and Rexley Kwok.joins the growing Asian cuisine explosion downtown Nueva Cantina debuted its Vitale-artist designed food truck this spring as well as a new menu and a planned expansion to south Tampa before summer.

Opening soon from the owners of Ruby’s Elixir and Gratzzi is Flute & Dram on Beach Drive, featuring bubbly, Scotch, caviar and more. Nueva Cantina’s new Vitale-designed food truck is muy caliente bueno and a 2nd location in South Tampa is planned for late spring.

Oak & Stone: This new American tavern featuring craft beer, artisanal pizza and gourmet fare, will soon open at 199 Central Ave. There’s a self-serve beer tap wall, handmade wood fire artisan pizzas, house-made burgers, sandwiches, soups, entrees and salads plus wines, bourbon and whiskey tasting flights at the full bar.

Paul’s Landing: The Vinoy Renaissance Resort opened its highly anticipated new waterfront restaurant in February. The chic yet laid-back eatery is poised to become a landmark dining spot for locals and travelers alike, serving innovative Florida-inspired cuisine on its locally sourced, Florida-inspired menu. Guests and locals alike can enjoy dishes such as fresh clams with orange and jalapeño broth from Tampa Bay-based Two Docks Shellfish, beer brined smoked wings, Gulf fish tacos and a chef favorite – the smoked fish spread. The drink menu offers playful specialty cocktails, unique and rotating on tap cocktails, as well as daily frozen creations made with fresh pressed juices and spirits as well as local craft beers including the Paul’s Landing Orange Wheat, a signature brew created in collaboration by the resort’s head chef and local Three Daughters Brewing’s Brewmaster in 2014.

4/20 Pig & Swig: From 6-11 pm downtown’s Albert Whitted Park, The Gulf to Bay Food Truck Association features live music and gourmet fare from Cravings Donuts, Softee Th King, Got Lobstah, PB & Jelly Deli, Maggie on the Move, Better Than Eve’s BBQ, Just Smokin BBQ, Mr. C’s Grilled Cheese, Soul Food Street Kitchen and more! Look forward to their Taco and Beer Fiesta (5/18) and Street Food and Craft Beer Fest (6/15).

St. Petersburg’s Saturday Market Online: Click on delicious grains, greens, fungi, soups, spices, citrus, and teas from your favorite vendors when you can’t get there on Saturday. . Orders can be placed from Sunday at 3pm and through Tuesday till 7pm, with pickup on Thursday afternoons from 4pm–7pm at either Jet Jackson Center at Wildwood Park and 1114 Central Ave.

The waterfront Armature Works now features mouth-watering fare at Hall on Franklin or Heights Public Market. In Seminole Heights, Mortar & Pestle unites an innovative café, local coffee, and old-time pharmacy. Downtown’s waterfront dining is growing with new seafood-focused Blue Harbour.

Luna @ Bula’s Gastrobar: Bulla Gastrobar opened its stylish new rooftop bar, Luna Lounge, set to be SoHo’s next big hotspot Thurs. thru Sat. evenings. While enjoying views of the downtown Tampa skyline, guests at Luna Lounge can savor handcrafted cocktails, made-to-order sangrias and top-shelf Spanish beer and wine selections, alongside elevated bites to complement the ambiance of the space and nightlife. Menu items include, tuna tartar, preset cured meat and cheese tablas, salmon rillettes and more.

Sweet Soul: The Ciccio Restaurant Group created Sweet Soul to focus on health-conscious food while staying delicious. Their entire menu is vegan-friendly, paleo, and plant-based featuring superfoods. They use sugars such as maple, honey, agave and dates.

Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar: New to the International Mall, this authentic Mexican eatery features contemporary twists on regional fare, late night bites and tequila shooters till 2 am. There’s a killer brunch menu including avocado toast, fuego chicken with waffles and a wet burrito with endless Bloody Mary’s and mimosas.

Better Byrd:  Rustic chicken dishes are the catch of the day, from the Mac & Byrd, a fried chicken sandwich topped with mac & cheese, to the healthier Byrd Bowl with options ranging from ramen noodles, jalapeños, or Peruvian slaw. Guests will also enjoy Wyngs served up with a variety of dipping sauces., followed by a dessert of mini donuts. What started in St. Pete will now be in Hyde Park.

Craft Beers: You don’t have to wait until Craftber’s month long salute to beer. Check out Facebook events at Seminole Heights (Angry Chair), South Tampa (81 Bay), Plant City (Two Henry’s Brewing) and Ybor City (Cigar City, Coppertail, Rock Brothers Brewing) and Apollo Beach (Four Stacks).
