World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler ended his victory drought in convincing fashion, shooting 4-under 66 at TPC Southwind and winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship by eight strokes over Si Woo Kim.

Scheffler shot -17 for the week and earned $3,600,000. For the record, Ted Scott earned an estimated $360,000 as Scheffler’s caddie. Ted Scott has made an estimated $9.5 million to $11.5 million caddying for Scottie Scheffler since they paired up in late 2021.

Caddie contracts are private, these figures are calculated using the standard professional golf payout structure: 10% for a tournament victory, 7% for a top-10 finish, and 5% for making the cut.

Thanks to Scheffler’s historic, dominant runs on the PGA Tour, Scott has consistently outearned a significant majority of professional touring golfers.

Scottie Scheffler has 21 official wins on the PGA Tour. Four professional golfers have recorded exactly 21 official career wins on the PGA Tour. The players with 21 PGA Tour victories are: Davis Love III Lanny Wadkins, Scottie Scheffler, and Craig Wood.

Scheffler is among the youngest PGA Tour players to reach 21 career wins.

Following the 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship, 20 golfers were eliminated from the PGA Tour postseason, missing the cut-off to reach the top 50 advancing to the BMW Championship. Notable players who failed to make the top 50 include Jordan Spieth, Max Homa, Keith Mitchell, and Harris English.

The next FedEx Cup playoff tournament is the BMW Championship, taking place from August 20–23, 2026, at Bellerive Country Club in Town and Country (St. Louis), Missouri.

Twenty-two-year-old, Florida State University rising Senior, Jack Whaley of England, defeated Stanford University’s twenty-year-old rising Junior, Jay Leng Jr., of San Diego, CA.  The final score was 4 and 3 at Sunday’s 36-hole championship match of the  26th U.S. Amateur Championship at historic Merion Golf Club.

Whaley, who spent the first two years at NAIA Dalton (Ga.) State College before transferring last spring, became the first Florida State golfer to hoist the Havemeyer Trophy. Drew Kittleson (2008) and A. Downing Gray (1962) had reached the championship match.

By winning the title, Whaley, No. 90 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking®/WAGR®, earns exemptions into the 2027 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach (Calif.) Golf Links and The Open Championship on the Old Course at St. Andrews as well as a likely invitation to the Masters Tournament next April. He also automatically earns one of the 10 spots on the Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup Team that will take on the USA Sept. 5-6 at Lahinch, in the Republic of Ireland. That team will be announced on Tuesday by The R & A.

Whaley joins Englishmen, Harold Hilton (1910) and Matt Fitzpatrick (2013)  to have claimed the Havemeyer Trophy. He’s also the first player since Tyler Strafaci in 202

Sophia Schubert, the 54-hole leader, had to settle for a 71 and finished fourth.

The 23-year-old Thitikul won for the 10th time in her LPGA career, making her the eighth player to reach 10 wins or more before turning 24. She also joined Nelly Korda as three-time winners this year on the LPGA.

Thitikul finished at 22-under 266 and won $300,000, moving her closer to $20 million in career earnings.

In local news, Tournament officials announced recently that a variety of ticket offerings are now on sale at www.TheAnnika.com for Tampa Bay’s LPGA Tour event, The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, taking place Nov. 11-15 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla.

There is a lot of golf going on, when you are playing in the Tampa Bay area heat this summer, be sure to stay hydrated. That means, drink water on the first tee and throughout the round. I supplement with Liquid IV. Don’t wait until you are exhausted or dizzy- heat stroke is a real thing. Take care of yourself.

Most of all, enjoy your golf.
