U.S. Captain Brandt Snedeker hoisted the 2026 Presidents Cup on Sunday after a nail-biting come-from-behind victory.
Led by veterans Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Cameron Young, Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay, and Xander Schauffele the U.S. Team beat the International Team 17 – 13.
The veterans led the charge on Sunday, but rookies Jackson Koivun, Chris Gotterup, and Jacob Bridgeman stole the show winning their matches against the best International players.
The 9.5 to 2.5 margin in Singles set a record for Sunday domination. Bridgeman’s win got the final tally across the necessary 15.5 point mark for the U.S. victory.
Koivun completed his Presidents Cup debut with a 2-0-1 record after defeating Si Woo Kim 2 and 1 in Singles on Sunday. Some eyebrows were raised when Koivun joined the team as a Captain’s pick, but the 21-year-old more than delivered.
It was magic to watch him pipe his drive down the middle of the 18th fairway and then stick his approach shot near the pin as if he was playing a Sunday match with his friends at his local club. Koivun is the real deal, and it will be a thrill to watch him going against his peers and PGA Tour veterans in the future.
Golf is in good hands with Chris Gotterup, Jacob Bridgman and Jackson Koivun.
Many had more than whispered that the Presidents Cup may be in trouble since the U.S. has been so dominant. “It just is not competitive, they mused…the tournament is up against college football on Saturday and NFL on Sunday…what about the ratings?”
The timing of the match could be moved to early September to avoid going up against football, but if you love golf like I do, and enjoy a nail-biting finish, the Presidents Cup exceeded expectations in 2026.
The next Presidents Cup will be held in September, 2028 at the Kingston Heath Golf Club in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The time change will work well for the U.S. television audience.

Over on the LPGA Tour…Yuna Nishimura completed a wire-to-wire victory Sunday at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G, closing with a 5-under 66 to finish at 21-under par and capture her maiden LPGA Tour title.
Nishimura becomes the 24th different LPGA Tour winner from Japan and the 15th Japanese player to become a Rolex First-Time Winner since 2006. She joins Miyu Yamashita and Shiho Kuwaki as the third winner from Japan on Tour this season and is the first Japanese first-time winner since Akie Iwai’s victory at the 2025 Standard Portland Classic.
Finally, congratulations to Brook Henderson as the recipient of the 2026 Dow Impact Award following an 18-day fan voting period.
She was honored for her extraordinary leadership, service and dedication to others both on the course and within the communities she is passionate about. The Canadian will receive a $25,000 cash award and a matching contribution to a charity of her choice.
Through supporting children’s health, cancer research and cardiac care, Henderson has raised over $4.5 million for heart health through her partnership with Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and support of the CPKC Women’s Open.
