The Boy Who Loved Batman

This production is being presented right here at the Straz with the hopes of further development for Broadway. It stars Dan Fogler , star of stage and screen, and other well-known performers. Based on Executive Producer of the Batman films, Michael Uslan’s memoir of the same title, THE BOY WHO LOVED BATMAN is an inspirational comedy about one man’s vision that became a national phenomenon. It’s a crazy journey that goes from New Jersey to Hollywood, comic books to the silver screen. Every hero needs a hero!

Three Florida Hotels Hosting Hurricane Relief Events – Raise the Roof for Helene & Milton Assistance

Luminary Hotel & Co., Fort Meyers (Beacon Social Drinkery)
Three of Florida’s most popular rooftop bars are “Raising the Roof” for Hurricanes Helene and Milton Relief at EDGE Rooftop Cocktail Lounge (Epicurean Hotel in Tampa); and Hi-Fi Rooftop Bar (Fenway Hotel in Dunedin) on Thursday, Oct. 17; and at Beacon Social Drinkery (Luminary Hotel & Co. in downtown Fort Myers) on Friday, Oct. 18 at. All three will be donating 50% of proceeds from the night to the American Red Cross Hurricane Helene & Milton Funds to support Florida communities impacted by the storms.

Opening – Aqua Lanterns: A Chinese Festival of Lights
Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Clearwater (Re-opening This Weekend)
Dive into a sea of lights and wonder at Aqua Lanterns: A Chinese Festival of Lights at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. This luminous new after-hours experience debuts Friday, Oct. 18 at 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. and will open Thursday through Sunday evenings and select dates during the holiday season through the end of December. Doors will open at 6 p.m. As the sun sets, the aquarium transforms into a glowing seascape, featuring stunning illuminated sculptures up to 13 feet tall of whales, turtles, dolphins, sharks as well as penguins, jellyfish and other sparkling sea creatures. Guests can stroll through this mesmerizing marine world and discover over 30 beautifully-crafted lantern displays, next to the amazing real animals throughout the aquarium.

A Saturday Night Comedy Show
The Fringe Theatre, Ybor City
For the purpose of benefitting people affected by Hurricane Helene, featuring local Tampa Bay Comedians who aren’t really suited for physical labor or anything like that but wanted to do something to help and can tell jokes so that’s what they’re doing instead. It’s good to laugh as we recover, and even better, it is for a good cause (Metropolitan Ministries), so go for it!
