It’s a special arts community that attracts other artists from around the world. That’s what Tampa Bay is all about, and we’re so lucky to host Lucy Sparrow’s world-famous work until March 2026. You can even bring a piece home! The uniqueness of this exhibit and the great folks at FloridaRAMA shine in this week’s #RegisrtySpotlight.

Lucy Sparrow‘s Quick Shop: An Immersive Experience

FloridaRAMA is a holiday wonderland all year round, but right now a very special “Quick Shop” is making headlines. Lucy Sparrow is a British felt artist who has gained fame for her incredible felt creations that look like everyday grocery store items. She has become world-famous with exhibits in cities around the world, including London, New York City, Paris and Los Angeles. Lucy Sparrow’s Quick Shop is a limited-time, pop-up exhibit inside the quirky FloridaRAMA in St. Pete. The experience resembles a classic Florida convenience store, except that all the 13,000 items on the shelves — from the stacks of citrus fruits to the everyday beauty supplies to the must-have beach essentials — are all made of handcrafted felt. Soft, cuddly, huggable felt. Take a basket, browse the aisles and appreciate these intricately decorated creations. Check out all the store sections for all kinds of unexpected items. Then, when your basket is full, head to the checkout (yes, that’s felt as well) and purchase your items to take home as the ultimate in memorable souvenirs (they’re made by a world-famous artist, after all).

Snowflake Vision: A Holiday Light Experience

Imagine seeing bright beautiful holiday light displays set against stunning glass art! The effect is magical and a post-Christmas stroll through Imagine Museum is definitely a good idea! See holiday lights transform into shimmering snowflakes with special 3D glasses available only this December.

Stomp
The Straz Center, Ferguson Hall, Tampa

I love this show – saw it the first year it was out and it remains a fave to this day for its inventiveness and joy! It’s simply remarkable, and perfect for continuing the holiday cheer. Longtime crowd-pleaser STOMP brings that beat back to the Starz stage. The troupe uses matchboxes, brooms, garbage cans, lighters and just about anything that can be shaken, rattled or rolled. Celebrating over 30 years in North America, STOMP remains an inventive and invigorating stage show that combines dance, music, theatrical performance and, of course, the big beats.

Sounds of the Ocean: The Immersive Experience

Holiday Classics: Love Actually
The Historic Tampa Theatre

Post Christmas Sunday is the perfect day for a much-loved holiday feature. Love Actually is three and a half movies at once: it’s a Christmas movie, a romantic comedy, an ensemble movie and half of an anthology (the various plots actually do all tie together and reference each other, so it only gets partial credit here). There are ten stories happening simultaneously, and it stars about fifteen actors who, in a more normal film, would be billed above the title.  It’s become a classic holiday staple, so why not enjoy it on the big screen in a historic theater?

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Montreal Canadiens

A hockey game seems perfect for the holidays, and one of the few places you’ll find winter ice in Tampa Bay. Cheer on Nikita Kucherov and the gang as they skate toward the playoffs – if they can fix that power play, that is. Montreal is always a tough opponent, so get on out to Benchmark and get loud! Live hockey is so much fun and a great post-holiday activity. Go Bolts!
