Really. What is more fun than a fair? I mean a huge, all-encompassing State fair. For decades the Florida State Fair has been delighting everyone in the Tampa Bay area and beyond who loves fun. The rides, the weird food, the animals (including camel rides!), the entertainment, the competitions – and that just scratches the surface. It’s a full day(s) of family fun at a very reasonable ticket price and parking is free. So, load up the car and relive your childhood. It’s simply a blast!

Opening: Love or Best Offer
early Bird Dinner Theatre, Clearwater
Here’s a great Valentine idea for you. An evening (or afternoon) eating great food and enjoying a live “love themed” stage show would be just the ‘ticket.’ Early Bird offers both and it’s a really fun way to go to the theater at a very reasonable price.
Cheryl is a widow of two years, and Stan is newly divorced. After failed blind dates, their best friends, Lori and Dave, convince them to try online dating with the new dating website, “Friends, Love or Whatever.” With the worst dating advice in the world from their friends, Cheryl and Stan set out to find happiness and true love—online. All the trials and tribulations of online dating come to the forefront, including overcoming heartbreak and rejection, all in an effort to find love…or best offer.

Friday
The People Downstairs by Natalie Symons
Stageworks Theatre, Tampa
Local treasure, playwright, and novelist, Natalie Symons has written a heartwarming and funny tale here that must see theater presented by Stageworks. In Buffalo NY, Miles, an aging funeral home custodian lives with his middle-aged daughter Mabel, who spends her days writing letters to prison inmates. When a court-appointed guardian threatens to take away their home, Miles sets out to set Mabel up with Todd, an inept mortician. It is a father’s fierce determination not to accept his daughter’s fate that ignites an endearing human comedy about love, loss, loneliness, and the healing power of laughter.
