Pinellas County Commission Budget Meeting re: Funding for Creative Pinellas
333 Chestnut St., Clearwater
Calling ALL Lovers of the Arts: If you have any connection to the arts community in Tampa Bay/Pinellas County, then you know how critical Creative Pinellas, THE county arts agency, has been to our cultural life and also to the life of our thriving tourism industry. Through advocacy, grants, venue and event support, highly anticipated exhibitions, education, and innovative programming, Creative Pinellas has become the heartbeat of all that is culturally meaningful here. So many area artists have built their careers through Creative Pinellas funding, support, and initiatives. So many tourists (and their money), have come to our area specifically to see arts offerings in which Creative Pinellas has had a direct hand. Now, critical funding from the County Commission is in danger of being cut and TONIGHT you have an opportunity to have your voices be heard. Full disclosure – I have been a part of the Creative Pinellas family for eight years as a gallery host and program coordinator, and I can tell you firsthand, there is no more important, yet unsung, organization in our community. Now, Creative Pinellas needs our support. Please consider coming to tonight’s meeting.
