Friday
Opening – Play On! by Rick Abbot
St. Petersburg City Theatre, St. Pete
An incredible milestone, our own St. Petersburg City Theatre is opening its 100th (YES, 100th), season. To open the season, it is only fitting to present a play about all the foibles and hilarious complications in creating a live theater production – Rick Abbot’s comedy, Play On!
Play On! is the comic story of a theatre group trying desperately to put on a play in spite of maddening interference from a haughty author who keeps revising the script. Of course, anything that can go wrong, does. It’s a funny bone tickling romp, so come on out and support a century of great community theater.
