Hillsborough County Fair

This fair has everything. Enjoy eleven days of carnival rides, games, fair food, livestock competitions, tractor pulls, a rodeo, a demolition derby, and everything a good old fashioned county fair should have. There are educational exhibits and a look back at history in the Hometown Hillsborough exhibit. There is much more than space permits, so come on down to the fairgrounds with the whole fam and have a wonderful time steeped in county fair tradition.

A different actor is featured each night and no one, not even they themselves, has any idea what will happen. Garden Brothers Nuclear Circus: Humans Gone Wild

Garden Bros Circus

Touted as the largest circus on earth, Garden Bros Circus has been entertaining families for over one hundred years – and now they have gone “nuclear.” The new show is bigger and more spectacular than ever with over 60 performers from around the world and FIVE rings of entertainment. You can expect special effects, amazing lighting, and acts like the Human Cannonball, motorcycles in the Sphere of Fear, Human Slingshot, comedy and much more. Come early to meet the stars, get the kid’s face painted, ride the Monster Slide, or play on a moon bounce. It’s a great family show under the world’s largest “big top.”

They’ve sold more than 23 million albums, generated over 8 billion streams, and have toured all over with their #1 brand of music “sung by kids, for kids.” Take the family and hear these talented young people sing today’s biggest global pop hits (Anti-Hero, Cuff it, As it Was).  There will be special effects, impressive choreography, and, of course, the very popular Daddy Dance Off where Dads get to show off their dance moves on stage. That’s worth the price of admission right there.

25th Annual Historic Kenwood BungalowFest
Starts @St. Petersburg High School, St. Pete

The 25th Annual BungalowFest will feature 10 homes celebrating a diversity of architectural styles – Craftsman Bungalows, Ranch, Mid-Century, and Modern homes with a special look inside a former grocery store converted into a 4-unit complex. BungalowFest will also offer guided tours of Historic St. Petersburg High School’s renovations, giving an exclusive look into the history of the nation’s first million-dollar high school. Kenwood is known for being the neighborhood of the Arts in St. Petersburg and highlighted along the tour will be numerous Public Art Installations throughout the Historic Kenwood neighborhood.

An Evening with Fran Lebowitz

The legendary writer (Interview, Mademoiselle), author (Metropolitan Life, Social Studies), biting humorist, and staunch New Yorker has gone from Studio 54 in the 70s, to starring in Pretend It’s a City on Netflix with Martin Scorsese in current day. Saturday night she comes to Tampa Bay to share observations on life, current events, and general sources of irritation – followed by a Q&A and book signing. Our very own JoEllen Schilke of WMNF’s
Art in Your Ear will be the moderator. This native New Yorker is jealous!
