Friday – Halloween

Halloween (1978)
The Historic Tampa Theatre

What better way to spend Halloween than with a screening of a horror classic in a historically haunted local treasure like Tampa Theatre. The atmosphere is perfect and you may even see a spirit or two! Don’t miss the movie that ushered in a new Golden Age of slasher film, influenced the direction of a whole genre of movies for decades to come, and earned Jamie Lee Curtis a near-permanent No. 1 spot on the list of cinema’s top scream queens (an honor that had, up to that point, belonged to her mother, Janet Leigh, of Psycho fame.)

Friday, October 31st @ 7pm

For a Good Cause: The Halloween Party – Presented by 13Ugly Men

Every guest is part of the show—bring your boldest look.
This year’s event supports the Wounded Warriors Abilities Ranch, a nonprofit empowering veterans through recreational and therapeutic activities. Your ticket helps fuel their mission of healing through movement, camaraderie, and purpose. Because with the 13 Ugly Men, we don’t just throw parties—we party for a purpose.

Love v. Death by Tom Sivak – Presented by Opera Tampa
Straz Center, Jaeb Theatre, Tampa

Here’s a great way to wrap up Halloween 2025! In this world premiere chamber opera, Tampa Bay area composer Tom Sivak uses dark humor to explore two macabre historical events.
Act I: This opera recounts the haunting true tale of Carl von Cosel, a German-born radiology technologist living in Key West, FL, whose fixation with a young Cuban American woman suffering from tuberculosis transforms into a macabre devotion that endures long after her passing.
Act II: As those closest to Mary Mallon begin to fall victim to a mysterious illness—believed to be Typhoid Fever—the opera unravels the tragic fates of those in her orbit, culminating in her arrest and the shadows it casts over her legacy.
