Sunscreen Film Festival – Celebrating 20 years

Since 2005, The Sunscreen Film Festival has grown exponentially, screening the newest and cutting-edge offerings in filmmaking. It’s four days of film and events that will make you feel like Hollywood has come to St. Pete. MovieMaker magazine voted Sunscreen one of the “25 Coolest Film Fests” in the country and was voted the Best Tampa Bay Area Film Festival in 2012 by Tampa Bay Magazine. There will be a huge variety of films and documentaries available to view as you mix and mingle with filmmakers, stars, and more.

It’s been 20 years since a group of preservationists, artists, and citizens approached the shuffleboard club with an idea: what if we opened the club up to the public on Friday nights, so the community could see what an amazing place this is?
Join in for a 20th anniversary party to celebrate the best way to spend a Friday night in St. Pete! We’ll have a live band, The Chance Reynolds Trio, sponsored by Daddy Kool Records, cake, a food truck, and a limited edition shirt designed by Chad Mize.

Another Stageworks hit is back this season, Morningside. Nine women have gathered at Grace Driscoll’s beautifully appointed home, fully expecting a lovely baby shower. Family secrets are revealed, propriety flies out the window as the family melts down in a side splitting, laugh-out-loud look at the modern family and sibling rivalry. No actual teddy bears were injured making this play.
