31st Annual Suncoast Kingfish Classic
Tiki Docks Skyway Bar, St. Pete
It’s the longest running tournament of its kind in the Tampa Bay area and the prize money is big – up to $15,000! Proceeds go to great causes like
“Ready for Life”, a 501(c) (3), dedicated to helping former foster youth make a successful transition to adulthood. The tournament also partners with the “Water Warrior Alliance” whose mission is to improve wildlife sustainability, reduce eco-toxicity, and rebuild the benthic layer by conducting research, building awareness, and improving conservation.

Riverfest
Curtis Hixon Park, Tampa
Riverfest is a public, two-day, free event that is held the first weekend in May each year. The festival spans the entire length of the Riverwalk including several parks and features family-friendly activities and events showcasing Tampa’s cultural institutions, local musicians and restaurants. The festival includes Taste of Riverwalk on Friday night and RiverFiesta on Saturday. There is also a full concert series of tribute bands on the main stage in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and a balloon glow at sunset on both nights. Other activities include a wiener dog derby, a lantern parade, yoga, a water ski show and a paddle invasion.

The sidewalks of 22nd Street between 7th Avenue South and 9th Avenue South on the historic Deuces will be transformed into a kaleidoscope of colorful squares as the festival brings awareness to our local and global ecological concerns through the theme “PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT: Sustaining our Future.” Free Event

Tampa Bay Downs offers an exciting live racing card, followed by the simulcast of the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve. Mint juleps will be sold here in the official souvenir Derby glass.

Tropical Heatwave (“THW”) is a locally-sponsored, annual music festival celebrating diversity in music during an exotic evening of eclectic entertainment, featuring independent artists and a variety of local musicians. THW is organized by WMNF, a Florida 501[c][3] non-profit, listener-supported, volunteer-powered community radio station.
