Every Labor Day weekend, the Home Show makes its way to Tampa Bay, offering every conceivable option for home remodels, repairs, and design. Whether you’re DIYing or looking for professional services and products, it’s all right here for three days. No wonder they need the whole Expo Hall to hold it all! I must admit, home shows are a definite weakness, so I’ll see you there.

Tampa Bay Theatre Festival
Straz Center & Various Stage Venues, Tampa
It’s the theater lover’s fever dream. Enjoy three days of full length plays, short plays and one acts, workshops, parties and other related events – even a monologue competition. Multiple venues throughout Tampa will host – The Straz Center, Stageworks Theatre, HCC Mainstage, and HCC Performing Arts Ybor City. There is no better way to spend a weekend if you love theater.

2023 St. Pete Power Boat Grand Prix

If theatre isn’t quite your thing, then Registry Tampa Bay has your back. How about some power boat racing? It’s a full weekend of activity, including parties, events and, of course, racing. You can meet drivers and see the boats up close at the Friday night block party, check out qualifying on Saturday, and then enjoy the main event all day Sunday. VIP packages available

**Registry Spotlight Event**
Downtown Gulfport took a hit with flooding during Hurricane Idalia, but if I know my neighborhood, they’ll rise to the occasion! Here’s hoping the waters recede and Geckofest goes on as planned. Either way, it deserves the spotlight this week.
GECKOFEST – Gulfport’s End of Summer Celebration
Beach Blvd S, Gulfport
It’s a premiere annual event for the little city that could. Gulfport hosts this huge, day-long celebration marking the end of the Summer – or the hopeful end, in any case, and honors its unofficial mascot – the gecko. Everyone is encouraged to dress-up, so you’ll see a wide array of costumes, and experience lots of music, dancing, food, and drink. This year’s theme – Around the World in 80 Geckos is sure to raise the costume inspiration factor. Come on down! Admission is free and the event is pet-friendly.

St. Pete Jewelry, Gem, and Mineral Show
The Coliseum, St. Pete
The historic Coliseum will be filled with treasures this Labor Day weekend – a spectacular selection of jewelry, gems, crystals, and minerals as far as the eye can see. Whether you’re a collector of crystals, or a lover of fine or artisan jewelry, there is something for everyone over the course of this three day show. $5 admission at the door.

Nerd-Up The Revenge! – An Unforgettable Geek Celebration

It’s the ultimate geek extravaganza! It all starts, of course, with cos-play. Don your coolest costumes and complete in the ultimate retro-themed costume to win great prizes. The Culture & Community fest was organized as a celebration and show of support for local businesses. Spend Labor Day weekend listening to live music, shopping, eating delicious food, and enjoying lots of festivities and services including free health screenings. It’s a great opportunity to get a jump on your holiday shopping and support local at the same time.

Sneaker Con
Tampa Convention Center, Tampa
For the first time, the Tampa Convention Center will host the biggest gathering for sneakerheads. There will be vendors from around the country with the most exclusive and rarest sneakers, an assortment of top brands, and meet some of your favorite influencers. Whether you’re an OG or brand new to sneakers, Sneaker Con Tampa will be an unforgettable event, with a day full of unique experiences and memories. Tampa Bay Sports Card Show
Hilton Carillon Park, St. Pete
If you collect cards, this is the Labor Day weekend event for you. Browse sports cards, rookies, graded, vintage, Pokemon, retail and hobby boxes. There will be on site Grading Submissions, Breaks and lots of different offerings outside the norm. It’s a great family friendly atmosphere . The best dealers from all over the country will be in attendance to buy, sell, and trade. There will be over 100 vendors at this great location with plenty of parking.
