Opening Reception: The Soldier’s Lens
The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, Tampa

Exhibition featured image

Here’s a noteworthy event paying tribute to soldiers – a fitting event for Veteran’s Day weekend. The Soldier’s Lens showcases the original and deeply personal perspectives of active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. Curated from hundreds of submissions, this exhibition offers an intimate look at the complex realities of military life, from moments of intensity and service abroad to the quiet routines and bonds of camaraderie at home. The collected works honor the intersection of photographic arts and military service, raising awareness of the veteran experience through compelling visual storytelling.

Opens: Thursday, November 6th @5:30pm – 7pm (Exhibit runs through January 25th 2026)

Cadillac Crew
The Studio @620, DTSP

You’re definitely going to want to make time for this engaging collaboration between the Studio @620 and Powerstories Theatre.
On the day of a much-anticipated speech by Rosa Parks during the height of the Civil Rights Movement four activists working in a Virginia civil rights office wonder whether the proclamation of equality amongst mankind includes women. With remarkable insight and unexpected humor Cadillac Crew reclaims the stories of the forgotten leaders who blazed the trail for desegregation and women’s rights and asks: when will the world be ready to embrace women in all their capacity?

A Midsummer Night’s Dream
JCC – Cohn Campus, Tampa

A Midsummer Nights Dream.jpg

It’s always fun when a Bard classic is reimagined in another space and time and told to new audiences. One of my favorite comedies comes to the JCC Center in Tampa presented by our friends at Think Tank Theatre.
Welcome to the Athenian, a summer beach resort that has just expanded its residency by acquiring the nearby Amazon Resort and Spa. The owners of the resorts, Theseus and Hippolyta, will formally merge their two companies in a grand ceremony to be held at the end of the week; however, the lead up to the celebration isn’t without issues.
Even in an idyllic beach resort, wires get crossed, triangles form, misunderstanding cause chaos, and hilarity ensues. Check out how this story, even though four centuries old, show us that love and human nature are timeless.

Now through Sunday, November 16th
