A great start to 2024 is going to a wonderful Tampa Bay area museum on a pay-what-you-can basis! Starting this week, and each Thursday from
4pm – 8pm, The Tampa Museum of Art hosts Art on the House. You simply go to the Welcome Desk and let them know what you can pay for admission. Bring the family and celebrate 100 years of art in Tampa with exhibitions that emphasize ancient, modern, and contemporary art.

Opening – Gaspar! The Musical

Arrgh! It’s time for another great offering from one of the Bay area’s most prolific and best loved playwrights, Bill Leavengood. Gaspar! The Musical is a fast-paced, bawdy tale of “trading places” that finds the legendary pirate, Jose Gaspar, magically transported through time to modern day Tampa Bay, while his identical counterpart, Joe Wright, a Florida politician running for governor, finds himself captaining the pirate ship, Floriblanca, in 1723. Join in the fun!

**Registry Spotlight Event**

The Sacred Arts Tour, bringing Tibetan Monks here to the ‘Burg to engage in a most beautiful ancient artform has become a much-anticipated tradition and land Florida CraftArt in the #RegistrySpotlight!

Opening Reception – The Mandala Project
Florida CraftArt, St. Pete

The Mandala Project welcomes over 50 Florida artists to show work inspired by Tibetan mandalas. The show begins on the 4th with opening reception on the evening of the 5th. The accompanying Sacred Arts tour will take place January 8th – 14th – Tibetan Monks, masters of the artform, return to the gallery to create a spectacular sand mandala. It’s become a grand tradition, so don’t miss it!

St Pete Comic Con

St. Pete Comic Con is a two-day convention that features comics, anime, pop culture, makeup/SFX and cosplay.
The nerd event — which includes comic artists, voice actors, an iconic toy designer, and a roster of Florida’s top cosplayers — is the first weekend in January at the Coliseum in historic downtown St. Petersburg. This year’s very special guest is Garrett Sander, the mastermind Behind Monster High. here will be related events and cos-play in honor of Monster High, DC, Sonic, and much more!
