The Nutcracker – St. Petersburg Ballet Company

So many of us look forward to the holidays just so that we may see the classic tale, The Nutcracker, performed live onstage. The St. Petersburg Ballet Company brings a 3-day production to the mainstage at the historic Palladium.  It’s a wonderful tradition to start with your family if you haven’t already done so, and a lovely way to introduce kids to the classics and to the art of ballet.

27th Annual Death by Chocolate 2023
Central Park Performing Arts Center, Largo

Hosted by the Rotary Club of Largo, this delicious event features all-you-can-eat chocolate desserts from area restaurants and businesses. Tickets are only $20 ($25 day of), and there will also be a silent auction, chocolate fountain displays, champagne, and more. It’s a unique and delectable holiday event that is sure to bring a smile. When your tummy is full be sure to check out the over 2 million holiday lights displayed in the park.

The Great Christmas Cookie Bake-Off
Stageworks Theatre, Tampa

Christmas cookies with the ever-popular phenomenon of reality baking competitions. In this musical, eight young cookie chefs have been selected from all over the country to battle it out for first prize at the Cookie Coliseum. Over the course of the competition, feelings of intense rivalry give way to virtues of charity, family, and forgiveness, as the chefs learn what really makes for a winning Christmas recipe. (There is an opening night reception for an extra $25 including champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and sweets.)

7th Annual ArtJones Studio Tour
Various Locations, Gulfport

Gulfport, an artist enclave community, hosts ArtJones each year as a self-guided tour of the homes, studios, and work of local artists. Grab a map at Brenda McMahon Gallery or the Gulfport Welcome Center and look for the colorful signs and balloons throughout a 3-mile area. 11 studio locations will host 2 – 4 artists in clusters to cut down on walking.

Savannah Boat Show
Hula Bay Club, Tampa

Savannah Boats is hosting a free boat show at Hula Bay Club on Saturday, December 2 from 11 am – 4 pm, offering free demo rides and some of the region’s best island-inspired food and drink. Featuring a wide variety of their celebrated vessels, Savannah Boats will be offering free VIP demo rides to anyone, as well as offering free appetizers and drinks for guests who come by. Activities take place outdoors by the marina at Hula Bay, and the first 50 guests will also receive a free Savannah Boats swag bag complete with a hat, fishing towel, koozie and keychain. This is a free event.

Holiday Cosplay Tampa Bay

Time to put a holiday twist on your comic con and anime fantasies, dress in costume, and come out to the historic Coliseum. There, you can enjoy meeting your favorite voice actors, cosplayers, and other celebrities of the genre. Get autographs, join in costume, makeup, and lip sync contests, buy merch, check out the Tic Tok film festival, and so much more.

Tampa’s Santa Fest, Parade, & Tree Lighting
Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, Tampa

Downtown Tampa Christmas Trees

Santa comes to town the first Saturday of December as the City of Tampa celebrates the holiday season in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. Tampa’s Santa Fest & Tree Lighting features a colorful parade through downtown, continuous entertainment, make-n-take crafts, reindeer games, delicious foods, free Photos with Santa, and so much more. Tampa’s Mayor will lead the countdown and light the seven beautiful Christmas Trees! The funs not over yet! After the trees are lit its time to snuggle up and enjoy a movie in the park. This year’s movie, Disney’s Frozen is presented by the Gasparilla International Film Festival.

Jobsite Rocks! 25th Birthday Bash
New World Music Hall, Tampa

Get ready for a night of incredible music and performances by Jobsite associates and alumni. The party is a fundraiser for the company, celebrating a quarter century of innovative and highly entertaining live theater. The is a special VIP reception at 6pm (tickets available) with general admission festivities starting at 7pm. It’s sure to be a memorable night, so treat yourself and meet some of your favorite local performers.
