PRIDE Events This Weekend

 

Shuffle With Pride
St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club, DTSP

This week’s Friday Night Shuffle is a PRIDE Party! Shuffle with Pride will be a great event benefitting PFLAG Safety Harbor. Join in for food, libations, music, and of course shuffleboard. Celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and help raise money for PFLAG and support the work they do throughout Tampa Bay. As always, Friday Night Shuffle is free to club members and $10 for non-members. PFLAG will be holding a silent auction. All donations made for adult beverages will also go directly to PFLAG.
Courts are on a first come, first serve basis.

St. Pete Pride Youth & Family Day
North Straub Park, DTSP

This joy-filled event will bring thousands of LGBTQIA+ youth, queer families and allies to North Straub Park for this one-of-a-kind Pride event. Last year’s event was a remarkable reflection of St. Pete’s diverse and open-minded community, with many of the attendees being ally families. Guests will enjoy family-focused activities, vendors, and main stage performances. Event is FREE – Donations welcomed

Rays Pride Night

Celebrate Pride presented by Chevrolet at Tropicana Field on Saturday, June 8 when the Rays take on the Baltimore Orioles. Fans can purchase a special Pride package that includes a limited edition bucket hat and a seat in the Lower Level. Please go to the redemption center before the 6th inning to pick up your bucket hat. DEADLINE TO BUY TIX IS THURSDAY, JUNE 6th @11:59pm

Word Play 2024 – Voices of Hope Crossword Puzzle Gala
Banquet Masters, Clearwater

Calling all word nerds and crossword puzzle masters! Voices of Hope for Aphasia is hosting Word Play, a fun-filled night of word-game competitions, dinner, and opportunities to give. For people with aphasia, the effort to find the right words is a daily struggle. Word Play will directly support the programs and services of Voices of Hope, which helps guide members with programs that emphasize communication and quality of life. TWO RAYS PLAYERS ARE SCHEDULED TO BE THERE!

Tampa Fringe is a truly unique arts experience in Tampa Bay and no small feat to organize. All that talent seen over 10+ days in a wide variety of formats and at different venues, gives Tampa Fringe its place in the #RegistrySpotlight.

The ultimate funky art and performance festival is back! Tampa Fringe is an international festival of indie performance: From stand up and improv, to theatre and dance, to weird performance art — at reasonable rates, so you can enjoy all this year’s offerings!

Bliss – A PRIDE Themed Art Exhibit Curated by Chad Mize
The Factory/Fairgrounds, St. Pete

The Factory and Fairgrounds, St. Pete approached Chad Mize earlier this year to curate an exhibit in their main gallery space. They decided on an exhibit for the month of June. Over the last 6 years MIZE has curated a yearly PRIDE exhibit. Exhibits have included PRIDE & JOY, ICONS, DON’T ASK. DO TELL, RAINBOW, SAY GAY and HOT BOX. Several of these past exhibits have touched on the trials and tribulations within the political climate against the LGBTQIA+ community. This year MIZE wanted to switch it up and curate an exhibit about bliss, a state of complete happiness or joy. 40 visual artists and 5 literary artists have been invited for this 2024 exhibit. What is their BLISS?

TARANTULA
Sixstar Art Studios, St. Pete

Saint Petersburg’s hottest new art gallery Sixstar Art Studios and The Black Box Gallery is presenting TARANTULA,  a one night only art experience. Featuring a collaborative performance by Siobhan Monique and international artist Jason Hackenwerth. The event will also boast an installation by Hackenwerth as well as an exhibition of huge paintings by Tanner Simon an award-winning USF painting graduate.
Open Bar, Tasty Bites, Cool Beats. Dedicated Parking in the Warehouse Arts District. Every ticket holder will receive a limited edition Rand Snell tote bag that includes a hand-made sculpture by Tanner Simon, and other art and swag by Tyler Gillespie and our sponsors, Mother Kombucha and others.
