Registry Tampa Bay

It’s time to move into Springtime with some great festivals, iconic annual events, fabulous music, and there’s always time for a bit of good-deed-doing. Check out some St. Patty’s doings as well. Here’s wishing you all the luck of the Irish!

Theater Thursday

The Shark is Broken Presented by Jobsite Theater
Straz Center, Shimberg Playhouse, Tampa
sharkisbrokenposter.webp

Get a behind the scenes look at the trials and tribulations of filming one of the most iconic movies in cinematic history. FADE IN: The open ocean, 1974. Filming is delayed … again. The lead actors — theatre veteran Robert Shaw and young Hollywood hotshots Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider — are crammed into a too-small boat, entirely at the mercy of foul weather and a faulty mechanical co-star. Alcohol flows, egos collide, and tempers flare on a chaotic voyage that just might lead to cinematic magic… if it doesn’t sink them all.

Julius Ceasar
The Studio@620, DTSP

julius_caesar_1024x768.png

Experience the roar of the crowd, the sting of “Et tu, Brute?”, and the chilling aftermath of a world in chaos. This is Shakespeare at its most raw and compelling. Adapted by our own Roxanne Fay, this production features an all-female cast that commands the stage in a powerful and visceral iteration of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. This production is not just a play about a ruler’s fall; it is an intimate look at the human drama behind the conspiracy, the chilling cost of ambition, and the chaos that follows. From the cunning plotters to the impassioned orators and the citizens they sway, a brilliant ensemble of women brings every role to life with a fresh perspective.
