A free-to-the-public beach party at sunset at a St. Pete Beach resort? What’s not to like? That’s how the organizers of St. Pete Pride 2019 are kicking off this year’s festivities. In previous years, the opening-night party was held on the rooftop of the Hotel Zamora, a beautiful spot which could get pretty crowded. The sprawling grounds of the newly renovated Sirata Beach Resort should prove a more commodious site; as SPP’s Pride Guide puts it, the combo of “sweeping views of nature” with an “urban vibe” should make this “an event like no other during the weekend.” As for the rest of the weekend, expect a free concert on Friday, a night parade on Saturday and a street festival on Sunday (more details to come in our Weekend Top 10 on Friday and in dRTB’s A&E Calendar).
