Roam if you want to, but you’d be well-advised to land tonight at Ruth Eckerd Hall, where the aptly nicknamed “World’s Greatest Party Band” will be raising the roof with the raucous, happy, high-style dance music that’s had audiences dancing in the aisles for 40 (!) years. I mean, is it possible not to scream-sing along to “Love Shack”? I don’t think so. (And if you’ve forgotten just how wigged-out wacky they can be, watch this. “Put on your nose guard! Put on the lifeguard!”)
Opening for the B’s are two more ’80s New Wavers: OMD (aka Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark) of “If You Leave” fame and Berlin, whose “Take My Breath Away” anthem will be forever inextricably linked with Tom Cruise in a flight suit.
7 p.m., Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, rutheckerdhall.com.
