The funds raised from the event will support Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay which is a home away from home that provides comfort, support, and resources to families who are receiving life changing medical treatment. On May 30, 2026, the community will gather at Al Lopez Park in Tampa for the 5K for Foster Kids, a purposeful event dedicated to supporting some of the most vulnerable members of the community. This morning run serves as a vital fundraiser for the Children's Network of Hillsborough County, an organization committed to improving the lives of at-risk children and families through compassionate care and essential services. Participants have the opportunity to transform their miles into meaningful change, with all proceeds directly benefiting programs that provide stability and hope for children in the dependency system. ​The race itself is a professionally timed 5K managed by Victory Sports, ensuring a high-quality experience for both competitive runners and casual walkers. The course takes full advantage of the scenic, shaded paths within Al Lopez Park, offering a beautiful backdrop for a Saturday morning of fitness and philanthropy. With chip timing in place, every participant will receive an accurate assessment of their performance as they cross the finish line, making it a great event for those looking to set a personal record or simply enjoy a healthy outing for a great cause. ​To celebrate the efforts of the participants, an awards ceremony will follow the completion of the race. Recognition will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three performers in various age groups, ensuring that runners of all stages of life have a chance to be honored for their achievement.
