    This years Storybook Ball will take place on Saturday, May 16th with the theme of "Princess & the Frog" and will take place at the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel. The event promises to be a magical evening with a New Orleans twist, featuring cocktails, interactive stations, a delicious selection of food and live music. The funds raised from the event will support Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay which is a home away from home that provides comfort, support, and resources to families who are receiving life changing medical treatment.   • 5K for Foster Kids

    Al Lopez Park

    On May 30, 2026, the community will gather at Al Lopez Park in Tampa for the 5K for Foster Kids, a purposeful event dedicated to supporting some of the most vulnerable members of the community. This morning run serves as a vital fundraiser for the Children's Network of Hillsborough County, an organization committed to improving the lives of at-risk children and families through compassionate care and essential services. Participants have the opportunity to transform their miles into meaningful change, with all proceeds directly benefiting programs that provide stability and hope for children in the dependency system. ​The race itself is a professionally timed 5K managed by Victory Sports, ensuring a high-quality experience for both competitive runners and casual walkers. The course takes full advantage of the scenic, shaded paths within Al Lopez Park, offering a beautiful backdrop for a Saturday morning of fitness and philanthropy. With chip timing in place, every participant will receive an accurate assessment of their performance as they cross the finish line, making it a great event for those looking to set a personal record or simply enjoy a healthy outing for a great cause. ​To celebrate the efforts of the participants, an awards ceremony will follow the completion of the race. Recognition will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three performers in various age groups, ensuring that runners of all stages of life have a chance to be honored for their achievement. Whether you are aiming for a podium finish or participating to show your support for foster care awareness, the 5K for Foster Kids promises a morning of community spirit, athleticism, and heartfelt impact.

    he Tampa Bay History Center Annual Gala is dedicated to celebrating our region’s heritage and ensuring its preservation for future generations. This year’s Gala is especially exciting as we honor our Chairs, Andrea Gonzmart Williams and Beau Williams, whose family name is closely tied to Tampa’s civic, cultural and hospitality history. Their connection to Tampa will help shape an evening that reflects both community legacy and local history. This year’s theme, “Golden Hour: Sunset in Sevilla,” reflects our new, earlier 5:30 p.m. start time, honors our Chairs’ family heritage, and celebrates Tampa’s deep historical connection to Spain.
