More imaginative residential pool design is on the rise, with more homeowners looking to take their pool to the next level in both structure and decor. We caught up with Bart O’Connell with Landmark Pools about the biggest 2017 trends to watch popping up in your neighborhood.

Trend #1: Endless Water

Have you ever seen a pool’s water look flat like a sheet of glass? This look is achieved with a perimeter overflow. This modern style features water overflowing at the edges into a hidden slot or catch basin where it is then recycled back into the pool. “We are not only doing spas as full perimeter overflow, but also some entire pools,

which makes the water look as though it is at the deck level,” O’Connell explains.

Trend #2: In-Water Sitting

With that fancy new pool, you need a few new pieces to take in your stunning view. O’Connell recommends taking it all in while sitting in Ledge Lounger chaise loungers. Pergolas offer some shading from the Florida rays while keeping your yard posh yet classic. You can purchase pergolas already assembled in a wide variety of materials and finishes, or custom design your own.
